Este tipo de error se presenta por multiples causas siendo la más común los problemas en la aplicación instalada en el hosting o en la configuracion de archivos '.htaccess'.

Para confirmar cuál es la causa del error debe ingresar a su Cpanel, click en "Registro de Errores" (error_log) y podrá encontrar detalles del mismo. Ejemplo:

[Fri Apr 29 13:03:05 2011] [alert] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] /home/xxxx/public_html/.htaccess: Invalid command 'php_value', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server

Este error se solucionaría comentando o eliminando la linea en .htaccess que hace referencia a 'php_value' que es una etiqueta abandonada de configuración.

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
